Here you may access Safeguarding information for Northfield House Primary Academy.
Northfield House Primary Academy is committed to safeguarding and keeping children safe in education. This is reflected throughout our academy, through robust processes and on-going training which ensure that all of our staff are aware of their responsibilities to safeguard and protect children.
We operate clear guidelines and maintain accessible systems for the recording and reporting of any concerns an adult may have.
Northfield House Primary Academy has one dedicated family support worker, Jill Hurst who is part of our DSL team. Other members of the DSL team are our Principal, Mrs Sarah Ridley, our Head of School, Mrs Alex Curran, and our two Vice Principals, Mr Ben Burpitt and Mrs Jennifer Hawkins. DSL stands for designated safeguarding lead, and you can meet our DSL team below. It is the DSL team that staff must report concerns of child welfare or incidents to.
We adopt safer recruitment practices, to ensure best practice is followed from the initial job advertisement right through to an actual job offer.
Northfield House Primary Academy has established systems to ensure that appropriate vetting for all school visitors, including students, and volunteers is completed, and that all adults within the academy have relevant safeguarding training.

Does Northfield House Primary Academy have a staff code of conduct?
Yes, we have a code of conduct which is operated within the whole Trust and a copy of this can be found here: Code of Conduct.
What is Whistleblowing?
All staff and volunteers should feel able to raise concerns about poor or unsafe practice and p[potential failures within the academy’s safeguarding regime and know that such concerns will be taken seriously by the senior leadership team. If members of staff or volunteer felt that this wasn’t the case they would need to “whistle blow”. Northfield House Primary Academy has a Whistleblowing Policy, which can be found here: Whistleblowing Policy
